These photos were taken during the heaviest rain shower of the this very wet Oceanstate XC race weekend. It simply could not have rained harder. With 1/4 mile to go these Freshman kids had to run through this energy sapping 'soup. For my part, as the photographer, conditions could not have been much worse, I was kneeling in this 'soup' to gather these shots, my eyeglasses were rendered useless with the rain and were steamed-up with the humidity, I had no idea if my lens was wet or dry and couldn't tell if my shots were in focus - all of that said, this gallery is a pretty decent capture of the conditions that these young athletes battled through.
